    Ayako Miura

To kill some time until train schedule, I went to a museum in the memory of the female Christian novelist born and spent her life in Hokkaido.  I am not a big fan of her, but have read some of her masterpieces.  I don't remember details, but Shiokari Pass was just impressive and made me think about life and religion deeply.

Her first novel was issued in her 40s, after surviving long and serious illness in late 20s and 30s.  Her marriage was also late...at about 35 or something.  The couple were famous for being together literally all the time (it is not so usual in our country...people tend to flock together with same-sex fiends, rather than spouse or family.)  After she became a professional novelist, the husband quit his job at national forest management and began to serve as her secretary. (it is still quite unusual thing.)  A snapshot of their walking hand-in-hand is lovely, even thugh they were old. (Such behavior of old couples is not usual scene in our country, either.)

She said she felt just so relaxed and comfortable to be with her husband and NEVER, ever wanted to be alone, even in a second.  We can never feel the same way without understanding true meaning of "love", can we?
